Share the pictures from your phone and you could be making the news with Glopho
Glopho is a photo-sharing service for your news photos where you can share and sell pictures. Unlike other picture sharing sites and apps, we specifically want your photos that capture the news with the express aim of trying to sell your pictures and we absolutely want to share that money with you.
So the pictures you take and share with your mobile phone now could be shared using our iPhone or Android apps, put on to Facebook and Twitter – or any other sharing platform you already use – and if they are used commercially by someone, you will get paid!
Not all picture sharing services are prepared to do that so we think that makes us really quite different.
We’ve even prepared a short video to explain it better than we could describe it:

There's also a blog about us you can check out:

Glopho was conceived as a direct result of many years of experience in the fields of photojournalism and picture editing. Our founder, Simon Walker, worked through years of extraordinary change during which he witnessed and in many respects pioneered the embracing of technology. He was the first Fleet Street photographer to use a digital camera in the field (1.2 megapixels, costing approximately £12k), beaming images via a satellite phone hooked up to an old car battery.
With the technology now available in everyone’s pockets, through compact digital cameras and smartphones, we think that the time has come for consumers to be able to take a more active role in the news being created and reported. And that’s exactly what Glopho hopes to do.

All Glopho wants is to create the space. Users create the content and share it with the world. It's a news site, but it's a users news site. You are the readers, and you are the editors, too. Although sometimes, obviously, we might feel inclined to help.

Glopho was established in 2010 by Simon Walker. As an idea it had been developed over the previous two years and was as a result of his experiences in the media and internet worlds, and after twenty years as a professional photojournalist and picture editor. He has recently been joined by a whole host of others, all experts in their respected fields, and should you feel so inclined to read about us, here is a list of who we are and what we do.
